Next to the federal highway in Zeltweg, the Sepero group is constructing a new plant. Sepero is active in corrosion protection among other areas, and the groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 31st.
“It’s going to rain revenues.” This wish, fitting the weather, was expressed by Mayor Günter Reichhold during the official groundbreaking ceremony of Sepero in Zeltweg. The corrosion protection specialist has been on a path of success for years and is confirming this with the establishment of a second plant.
The decision for expansion in the region was made three years ago. “Our order books were full. We had to turn down more jobs than we could accept,” stated Managing Director Mario Schmerleib. The search for a suitable expansion site took quite some time. Eventually, the decision was made to settle near the business center in Zeltweg.
Currently, a modern coating plant for steel lattice towers is being constructed for approximately 10 million euros. Automated systems and new technology in the painting area will be utilized. Construction work is already in full swing, with completion planned for this autumn. Full operations are set to commence in January 2023.
The new plant will cover approximately 3,000 square meters and is expected to create 25 new jobs. Sustainability is a focal point, with plans for a photovoltaic system and partially greened facilities. The municipality of Zeltweg aims to ensure appropriate connectivity. “This is an excellent location in the heart of the region,” Mayor Reichhold enthused, highlighting the proximity to future skilled workers from HTL Zeltweg.
